Bath & Body Works for Work!

Work is a harder place to choose a perfume for, especially if you work in an office. An office may not be well ventilated, co-workers can have allergies (like me), or you just don’t want to knock out or offend someone with your strong scent.

I have found that a fine fragrance mist is a solution to this problem. They are usually lighter than perfumes, having a lower concentration of the actual perfume oils in them. Fragrance mists are usually people-pleasers as well.  They tend to be scents that everyone likes.

My favorite line of fragrance mists is Bath & BodyWorks or Victoria’s Secret (sister companies). I like them the best because every single scent comes in body wash, lotion/ body cream, and the mist. That means it’s easy to layer. You can turn the scent up or down depending upon where you are going.

I’ve had no complaints and only compliments once I switched from using perfume to fragrance mist. I had an ex- co-worker made a huge deal about her allergies and my perfume in the past. My boss even talked to myself and some other ladies in the office at the time about this. It was mildly annoying to be honest because I love perfume, but I understood … Kind of. lol.

Also, at work, you will eventually need to use the bathroom, several times. Your hands can get very, very dry. So, I make sure that I purchase a matching lotion or body cream in whatever scent I am using for this reason.

Fragrance mists are nothing new, but they are an easy solution for the dilemma of -what can I wear to work?

Here are some of the scents I wore this week so far-

Sofia VS. Sofia

LET’S GET READY TO RUMBbbbbbLE! lol

I decided to compare two of the Sofia Vergara perfumes that I own since I purchased them around the same time. These were Tempting by Sofia Vergara and So Very Sofia by Sofia.

First, let me say that Sofia Vergara is an excellent line of fragrance to be a celebrity. Usually, celebrity scents are seen as generic in comparison to designer or niche perfumes. There are only a handful of them that I do like, Sofia’s line being one.

Now my comparison of Tempting and So Very Sofia. Both smell good, but one is much, much better.

Here are the fragrance notes for each=

So Very Sofia

so very

TOP: Maracuja Passion Fruit, Sparkling Bergamot, Juicy Apricot

MID:Flor De Mayo Orchid , Rich Orris, Spirited Orange Blossom

BASE: Golden Patchouli, Creamy Vanilla, Textured Vetiver

Tempting

tempting

TOP: Acai berry,  Mandarin Blossom, Pineapple

MID: Star Jasmine, Vanilla Orchid, Passion Flower

BASE:  Sandalwood, Musk, Vanilla

They actually share quite a few similar notes, but smell very different.  Tempting is more juicy, the pineapple note is at the top and on my skin it never goes away.  The pineapple with the other top notes smell delicious. However, there is something either in the Mid or Base notes that I do not like combined with that pineapple note still lingering. I cannot put my finger on it. If it actually just stayed in the top notes, I would like it better.

This is a warm weather scent due to that pineapple note that lingers. It’s nice, but below a like for me. I could take this out of my collection and it would not be missed. I think it would be hard to even layer this without it becoming a disaster. One thing I do know is that some perfumes perform differently in different weather. I will try this again on a much hotter day and see if it’s any better.

Tempting costs around $18-$20 for a 3.4 oz.

Sofias

Now, So Very Sofia, on the other hand. This is fruity also, but seems to have a slight spicy then smooth edge to it. It’s not as playful, but it is a very nice scent. I can definitely smell the passion fruit. This is more linear. I do not feel that this scent changed much on me at all. This scent is really good for the price and I feel it can be worn year round.

Avon So Very Sofia by Sofia Vergara Eau de Parfum Spray 1.7 Fl Oz is a great cheapie for only around $8-$12 for a 2 oz bottle.  You can’t beat that!  know that this was sold through Avon at one point, but I purchase it after that.

PACKAGING: So Very Sofia has the more sophisticated looking package and the cap does snap on. The bottle shape reminds me of Lancome Tresor or Midnight Rose a little.

Tempting, on the other hand, has the better package for actually holding. It’s very comfortable in your hand because the midsection curves inward, which reminds you of a curvy woman’s body (hence the name Tempting?).

Review: Jessica Simpson -Fancy Love

FancyLove

I must be crazy. First of all, I had this Fancy Love perfume many years ago. I for some reason did not like it at that time and sold it online because I had opened it. I really enjoyed Jessica Simpson’s Fancy, so I was disappointed.

Fast forward to now, I was on YouTube watching reviews to check out something new and people were giving Fancy Love RAVE, RAVE reviews. My first thought was, WTF? What I smelt was too fizzy in the past and I did not see the huge deal. The rave reviews were too big not to revisit. The price years later is too good to pass on too. I paid just $23.00 with FREE Shipping.

Anyway, my sense of smell, taste, or something must have changed. I LOVE Fancy Love now, especially in cooler weather! Idk if I got a bad bottle in the past or what.  Now, I’ve  got Jessica Simpson Fancy Love by Jessica Simpson for Women. Eau De Parfum Spray 3.4-Ounce

Here is a little secret too: DUPE alert! It smells very close to Burberry Burberry (the original)! To this day that perfume is still around $80- $100 for a 3.4 oz ( say whut?). YES I love a good DUPE.

Burberry

Although it’s Spring, I feel it can still be worn at night when it’s cool or just cooler/rainy days.

How it Smells to ME: It’s fizzy, peachy, and sweet.

Packaging: Just OKAY. Fancy it better, but this is a clear flanker, so I see why they used the same bottle style. A plus is that the bottle is painted, however, this might actually protect the juice from sunlight. 🙂

More to come! 🙂
